Overview and Tour Video

The statue of Chaminade, a tribute commissioned in honor of the 250th anniversary of Blessed William Joseph Chaminade's birth at the University of Dayton. Donated by President Dan Curran and Claire Renzetti, this remarkable sculpture captures Chaminade in his youth, full of energy and vigor as he begins his mission. Unlike other depictions, Chaminade's open hand invites us to join him in solidarity, offering an invitation to be part of his vision. With a book symbolizing the marianists' commitment to education and a simple satchel on his back, Chaminade's statue stands at the crossroads of the Central Mall, reminding us that life is a lifelong journey of choices, and we do not travel alone. Join us in this video to explore the meaning and significance of this monument on the University of Dayton campus.
