Using Roundabout Design to Develop your Course

You may have heard of the phrase backward design, but most folks probably haven’t heard of roundabout design - at least not outside the context of traffic safety. Roundabout design is a phrase coined by Flower Darby as her response to backward design. She claims that thinking of your course as a roundabout is more realistic than the linear setup favored by backward design proponents. In this video, I compare roundabout design to backward design and offer my thoughts on where the value lies in each approach.
