Session Descriptions

Each day from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., we’ll offer a rotating schedule of five Canvas training topics and Center for Online Learning team members will be available for one-on-one consultations.

  • Canvas Essentials: (90 min.) This high-level overview of Canvas navigation, settings, features and tools will provide you with a foundational understanding of what Canvas has to offer and UD’s standard site setup.
  • Using Migrated Isidore Content: (30 min.) See how migrated Isidore content appears in Canvas and learn what adjustments are needed to make this content usable in your new Canvas sites.
  • Grading in Canvas: (30 min.) Learn to navigate Grades (the Canvas gradebook), change grading settings, create rubrics, and use Speedgrader to grade student submissions.
  • Assessments in Canvas: (30 min.) We’ll demonstrate the Quizzes and Assignments tools of Canvas, including building and using question pools, applying student accommodations, and adjusting quiz and assignment settings.
  • Prepping Your Course Site: (60 min.) Bring your laptop and start building your Canvas course site. We’ll walk through creating a homepage, selecting global course site settings, and using modules to organize your content.
