As many of you may already know Isidore, the replacement to our current
Learning Management System WebCT, was launched this fall. This semester, 18 instructors are
teaching 22 courses across numerous disciplines inside Isidore. The first two months of the semester have
been a success. Since Isidore is an open source product, the E-Learning lab, with guidance from the pioneer
instructors, has been able to customize the appearance and toolset to best fit the needs of the UD community.
Small hiccups were encountered and corrected, new features were requested and implemented, and UD is
two months closer to having an LMS that suits our needs.
It has been the plan from the start to offer evaluation sites for all interested faculty midway
into the semester. Evaluation sites will allow faculty members to experience Isidore hands-on.
While the first semester was limited to a small group of faculty, in the spring semester Isidore
will be open for general use. It is our hope that faculty will request and test their evaluation
sites during the fall semester, deciding if they wish to teach in Isidore in spring.
The E-Learning lab will offer hands-on Isidore training sessions over.
The sessions will last two hours and will be aimed at acquainting faculty with the Isidore system.
The training will be held:
If you would like to register for one of these training sessions please contact Lora Butcher
